Only three years ago, I purchased an MBRP kit for my ‘01 Cummins. Last year, the welds on the end caps of the over-priced pile of muffler failed and broke! MBRP was very unsympathetic of the issue. I had used Flowmaster on my first pickup in 2003 and it’s still on it to this day without any signs of needing replacement in the near future. One thing I love about the pro series in comparison to the MBRP glow through design muffler is that it has almost no drone in the cab now! Before when going anywhere beyond 70 MPH, I could expect to have a lot of drone and not much music to be heard or conversations as far as that goes. I had to get used to noises I couldn’t hear before after upgrading! The muffler build quality is all American quality no doubt, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone that wants some exhaust sound that’s good to listen to and don’t want drone, if you want close to straight pipe loud this isn’t what you wanna go with. In my opinion after having had straight pipe, then MBRP and now Pro Series muffler, I wish I’d have had Flowmaster from the beginning, I am finally happy with the sound from my exhaust and performance from it. Nothing noticeable as far as fuel economy changes or EGT numbers so far, was slightly worried it’d run a bit hotter but seems to be about the same. I’ll be sticking with Flowmaster in the future for aftermarket exhaust from now on, MBRP was a major letdown, their quality isn’t what it was in the past, Flowmaster still has it though for sure.
